Autumn River Events Association Inc

The association was formed in 2006 to establish a community resource for the staging of the annual Autumn River Festival and also become a consultative organisation for community groups in the region.

Its stated objectives are:

To promote, fund and be responsible for the staging of annual Autumn River Festival.

     To act as an advisory group for associations and not for profit organisations in the Belmont, Bayswater and Bassendean local government council areas.

     To assist in event management, promotional and marketing advice and direction for associations and not for profit organisations in the Belmont, Bayswater and Bassendean local government council areas.

     To provide long term ownership of the event by a community organisation

Background on why the association has been formed:

The Autumn River Festival has been established since 1998 and in that time has grown to be a significant regional event for the community. It has seen increased participation and attendance and recognition by the three major sponsors (City of Belmont, City of Bayswater and Swan River Trust) as a major event on their calendar.

The event was established by CMS Events to create an identity for the region and an opportunity for community groups to promote and raise funds in a larger community format than what had been available. It has been successful on all accounts.

The succession of the Festival is important to its long term security, as the councils and community groups depend on the event being managed and promoted successfully.

This succession is dependent on securing significant funding and a community structure outside of the CMS Events entity. CMS Events will still be involved for many years though in a management role.

A third objective is to build a mentor organisation for the region which has expertise in the successful management and promotion of events.

Membership:

Membership to the organisation is open to community and not for profit groups who participate and are active in the regions of Bayswater, Belmont and Bassendean. There is no cost for membership.

This membership will provide access and advice to issues involving event management and marketing as well as providing a group of like minded people who will develop and be involved in the management of the Autumn River Festival.
